Posted 7 days ago, by Andrew De Lara

Oakley’s female action sports athletes have been owning their respective sports for quite some time. It’s only fitting that they’d be featured on NBC’s weekend show, WORLD OF ADVENTURE SPORTS®, for pushing the envelope each and every day.

This Saturday’s episode (Aug. 28), set to air at 3:00 p.m. ET/12:00 p.m. PT, will be heavily laced with Oakley team riders. US Open of Surf Pro Junior Champions (including O’s Sage Erickson) will get some love, while a beautiful collection of our female athletes will be featured as a part of the Oakley “Uniquely” campaign – a six-section, travel-inspired women’s multi-sport film.

    Long live the Queen…of Wake.

Oakley ripper Nicola Butler was crowned the 2010 Queen of Wake after emerging from the WWA Wakeboard World Championships on top of the podium this past weekend in Orlando. Teammate Amber Wing placed a solid second – capping off a season where the two dominated the one and two spots on podiums everywhere.

The MasterCraft Pro Wakeboard Tour wrapped up its fifth and final stop of the 2010 season in style…Oakley style, that is.

The final stop in Knoxville, Tenn. raged this past week, as the world’s top professional riders hit the waters of Volunteer Landing for their last shot at the Pro Tour title. Just as the current points leader, Phillip Soven, predicted, the title came down to the wire in Knoxville. Six riders squared off in the Pro Men division final, with top seed Phillip Soven and defending titlist and Oakley Team Rider Harley Clifford in the hunt for the overall win.

No surprise here, but Oakley’s Clifford and Amber Wing on the women’s side, both took home the hardware!
