It was a mellow night at Oakley’s Interplanetary Headquarters…but oh-so-rockin’.

A ‘loungey’ atmosphere and feel was the theme of the Snowboard’s world’s grand kickoff of a week packed with movie premiers in Southern California. The who’s who of the industry converged on Foothill Ranch to celebrate the People Crew’s (People Creative) “Cheers” film in all its glory.

Oakley’s Lil’ John is famous for his much-repeated quote: “Shots, shots, shots!” O Snowboard team star Jake Blauvelt disagrees.

“Screw the shots, man,” says Jake during an ESPN interview, referring to snowboarders who place importance on the baddest camera shots taken of the biggest tricks. “I hate it when people are like: ‘We gotta’ go out and get shots…we got the sickest shots today.’ If we had a good time today, we’re probably gonna’ have good shots. But it should always be about the vibe of the day.”

Stylewars’ rail contest got O-wned, big time.

The rockin’ Australian TTR World Snowboard Tour Event saw Oakley’s Mark McMorris (Stylewars Stairmaster), Sebastien Toutant (Best Trick) and Jye Kearney (Best Aussie Rider) sweep the ‘28 Stairs’ Rail Jam titles.

All in astoundingly harsh conditions. In just 24 hours, Falls Creek Resort stacked up more than 50cm of snow, in what has been said to be one of the most incredible powder dumps in Australian history.
