Schleck Takes Tour of Luxembourg
It was double delight for Oakley on Sunday in the final stage of the Tour of Luxembourg as Matti Breschel dashed to a stage victory and Fränk Schleck wrapped up the overall after winning Saturday’s stage.
Oakley’s Andy Schleck won Friday’s attack-riddled stage, winning an eight-up sprint.
The older Schleck took the flowers in Saturday’s stage, winning just six seconds ahead of Klöden as the powerhouse pair dropped the chasing peloton and duked it out for top honors. Fränk won the final GC 10 seconds ahead of Klöden, with Marco Marcato (Vancansoleil) third at 1:32 back.
On Sunday, it was Breschel’s turn to get kisses from the podium girls, and the victory bodes well for his chances of making Saxo Bank’s deep Tour de France selection.
Fränk Schleck will next race at the Tour de Suisse to put the final touches on his preparation for the Tour, where the brothers will lead the team in the fight for the yellow jersey following the departure of last year’s winner, Carlos Sastre, to Cervélo TestTeam.
