Style: Chase Hawk has it in spades. Ask almost anyone in BMX what attribute sets Chase apart and it’s that one key ingredient. And it applies to whatever discipline of BMX you might think of. Be it in Park or Street or Dirt, he always brings his own unique flair. Born and raised in Austin, Texas – a burgeoning hotbed for BMX riders – Chase has used the diverse landscape as his training grounds and in turn has evolved into one of the most well-rounded and well-respected riders in the sport today.
At the inaugural X Games in Austin in 2014, the city rallied behind its local BMX hero and he gave them the performance he'd long been aiming for and the one they expected – and he won his first X Games gold. It was a moment to behold, a moment Chase will certainly never forget and a performance that showed why Chase is one of the most exciting riders in the sport.
In honor of Chase’s X Games accomplishment, the city of Austin created Chase Hawk Day, celebrated annually on August 16th. Chase then one-upped the ante by founding his own BMX event, “Born and Raised,” in 2015. The all-ages and skills contest has drawn hundreds of riders from several different states, solidifying the legacy of Chase as one of the most influential riders in the BMX world.
